Simulation of a real flight

In February, I made a business trip in Naples, of course by plane :)

In a rainy Saturday, I decided to simulated my trip to Naples, in my Learjet 45.

So, I planned a Torino Caselle - Napoli Capodichino flight.

This is the flight plan:

I flew OFFLINE, so no IVAO ATC...

It was raining...and it will be raining during the entire flight...

Takeoff from runway 36...

...and, through the Initial Climb Procedure, I reached VOR TOP

Then I decided to use the LAGEN 7L SID, which took me from VOR TOP to FIX LAGEN, the initial fix of my route towards LIRN

Inbound Elba Island

and then straight towards PONZA, the initial approach fix.

My final runway was 24...The STAR begins over PNZ and ends over POMIGLIANO VOR.

Over POM VOR, I began the ILS-Z procedure towards runway 24...

Hard landing, but I'm still alive :)

I will come back to Turin soon...

Here is the video:

Dedicated to my traveling friends, Silvio and Claudio, that like my hobby so much :)

The baggage's journey for a flight

Here is an interesting and curious video, about the entire "journey" of baggages...from check-in to final destination...

Six cameras inside the baggage allow us to check the full track...

This video was realize by DELTA AIRLINES, an American Airline, to publicize its own Mobile App...

Missed Approach in Spain

Dramatic missed approach caused by strong winds

A Turkish Airlines plane, flying from Istanbul to Santiago, tried to land at Bilbao airport, despite strong winds.

Wheels touched the runway but the plane didn't stabilize itself and so began the "go-around" procedure. Luckily, no one was injured.

Some minutes later, on the second attempt, the plane landed safely.

I wonder about the fear of passengers...

FSUIPC update per Prepar3d v 2.1 is out.

This is an important update to preserve the stability of simulator.

As usual, thanks Pete

Master Caution Warning and Main Power

First 2014 update...a little step toward the final target.

Today I wrote some SIOC code (which is my "standard" job) for Opencockpits Card to manage the Master Caution Warning indicator. There is no FSUIPC offset for it and so I implemented it with some SIOC code.

The Master Caution Warning, in my simple idea, is a visual and audio indicator to notify pilots about warnings (for example, low fuel, low oil pressure, door opened, etc etc); these warnings are reported in details on CWP, into the Glass Cockpit; instead, this led notifies pilots about the presence of these warnings

Using the source code of Dave Ault's CWP module, I identified the different cases which led to these warnings: so, I implemented these cases in SIOC code, using the FSUIPC offset. Because of I like to develop, I managed to get the led blinking and to play an audio file; indeed, I noticed that SIOC is able to play sounds.

Then, pushing the relative button, the indicator stops and will fire up again only when a new event there will be.

At last, I managed to get that leds light up only if battery power is on; otherwise all will be Cold & Dark

Here is a video about my tests:
